Tom Brady Bags NFT Contract From ESPN

Autograph has concluded a long term business deal with one of the world leading sports TV, ESPN.

The American TV network officially revealed the start of its relationship with Autograph, a NFT firm co-owned by Tom Brady. The whole contract is centered on the ‘Tom Brady: Man in the Arena,’ series which the network started showing in the concluding part of 2021.

ESPN and Autograph’s Partnership

ESPN further revealed that the signed NFT deal will center on the former quarterback for Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tom Brady, and it will be listed for sales on DraftKings Marketplace before today ends. The network continued that it will use 3 virtual magazine covers of that feature highlights from Tom Brady’s sport life to introduce the first collection. It concluded that it will release the second one (Back in the Arena) once the series has reached 10 episodes. The TV network also added that Brady will sign about 50 of the minted NFTs.

Kevin Lopes, an official at ESPN, while giving a speech expressed that the TV network is very elated that their first ever NFTs offering is meeting their supporters at a juncture of technology, content and sports. He added that ESPN Edge is behind their latest exploits as it pushes them to test new waters in their quest to supply their fans with more engaging content and innovation which led them into this partnership. He concluded that the firm is happy with the success of the deal and look forward to signing more contracts of this nature, very soon.    

Brady Repented on His Retirement

Reports have it that Tom Brady initially retired and stopped featuring for his former team, the Buccaneers. However, he has repented of his earlier decision as he announced that he is back in action for his old team as soon as the next NFL season starts. 

During his short-termed retirement, he signed a contract with Paramount film production which required him to feature in a comedy titled 80 for Brady. He sealed the deal via his film production firm, 199 Production.

Interestingly, Brady’s NFT company is associated and also backed by renowned sports personnel such as Tiger Woods, Tony Hawk, Derek Jeter, and Naomi Osaka, as well as popular film production firms such as Lionsgate. Consequently, this aided its journey to limelight in the NFT space to be fast tracked as it enjoys early success.

Dillon Rosenblatt, Autograph’s CEO, has stated that the just concluded deal was just the start of the two firm’s partnership. He buttressed that the NFT firm representatives are elated to be the ones ESPN will first share its NFT offering with. He concluded that the deal is a huge milestone which will open doors for more collaborations between sports and Blockchain technology all over the world. 

It is also worthy to note that Disney+ and Hulu will start showing the series today. The two networks have taken interest in displaying the Man in the Arena series. The shows will fit well into the library of both Disney and Hulu. This gesture will aid the series to gain more publication as it reaches more people.
